Summer Serenity Guided Visualisation

If your work/ life blend over the summer is leaving you lacking in serenity, here is a summer serenity guided visualisation to focus your mind, find relaxation and carve out a little piece of serene haven during the summer months.

Find a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed. Sit or lie down in a relaxed position, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths to centre yourself.

Imagine yourself in a beautiful natural setting that embodies the essence of summer. Picture a serene beach, a lush forest, a tranquil meadow, or any place that makes you feel at peace. Notice the colours, smells, and sounds of this environment.

Feel the warmth of the sun gently touching your skin, bringing a sense of comfort and relaxation. As the sun's rays penetrate your body, visualise them carrying away any tension or stress, leaving you feeling light and rejuvenated.

Imagine the rhythm of the ocean waves as you breathe. Inhale slowly and deeply, just like a wave reaching the shore. Then, exhale smoothly and completely, as the wave retreats back into the ocean. Allow your breath to guide you into a state of tranquillity.

During this summer meditation, release any thoughts or worries about work and other responsibilities. Visualise them as leaves floating downstream, carried away by a gentle river current. Allow yourself to be fully present in this moment of relaxation.

In your serene summer setting, feel a strong connection with nature. Tune in to the sounds of chirping birds, rustling leaves, or crashing waves. Feel the soft grass beneath your fingers or the sand between your toes. Embrace the grounding and calming energy of nature.

Recognise that it's okay to not have everything perfect. Be gentle with yourself and practice self-compassion. Allow any feelings of self-criticism or guilt to be washed away by the soothing summer breeze.

When you're ready, slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment. Wiggle your fingers and toes, take a few deep breaths, and open your eyes. Carry the sense of relaxation and balance with you as you continue your day.
